The Uttar Pradesh State government has launched the UP One-Time Settlement Scheme 2024. To allow the citizens of Uttar Pradesh State to pay their outstanding electricity dues in one settlement the state government has introduced the UP One-Time Settlement Scheme 2024. With the help of this scheme, citizens can pay their outstanding electricity bills while also receiving benefits like subsidy returns. The one-time settlement will encourage all the citizens with outstanding electricity dues to pay their bills conveniently. The UP One-Time Settlement Scheme will be implemented in three different phases that allow citizens to pay their outstanding bills easily.
What is UP One-Time Settlement Scheme?
The UP One-Time Settlement Scheme is launched by the Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister AK Sharma. According to the state government, there are a total of 3.2 lakh electricity consumers in Uttar Pradesh state and almost 1.9 lakh consumers have outstanding bills. A total of INR 190 crore worth of electricity bills are pending within Uttar Pradesh state. To clear this arrear the state authorities have introduced a scheme that allows the citizens to pay their bills in a one-time settlement. The first phase of the scheme will start from 15th December to 31st December, 2nd phase will start from 1st January to 15th January 2025 and the third phase will start from 16th January to 31st January 2025.

Objective of UP One-Time Settlement Scheme
The main objective of launching the scheme is to recover the outstanding electricity bills of citizens of Uttar Pradesh state. This scheme will allow the Uttar Pradesh State government to recover the losses that occur in the electricity department. Under phase 1 of the scheme, the citizens who will pay their outstanding bills will receive a 100% subsidy from the state government. Phase 2 will provide an 80% subsidy and phase 3 of the scheme will provide a subsidy of up to 70%. These benefits will attract the citizens and allow them to pay their outstanding bills without putting on a huge financial burden.

Eligibility Criteria
- The citizens must be a permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh state.
- The citizens must have outstanding electricity bills.
- The citizens must have to pay at least 30% of their bill amount at the time of registration.
Benefits of Phase 1 (December 15-31)
- A subsidy of 100% will you given to the citizens who will pay their outstanding bills in Phase 1.
- For residential consumers, a subsidy of 75% will be given under Phase 1.
- For commercial, industrial, or private consumers, a subsidy of 60% will be given under phase 1.
Benefits of Phase 2 (January 1-15)

STEP 1: All the citizens of Uttar Pradesh state who want to avail the benefits of the UP One-Time Settlement Scheme are requested to visit the UP One-Time Settlement website and fill out the application form online.
STEP 2: Once the citizens reach the home page of the official website they must locate and click on the option called “Apply now”.
STEP 3: The application form will now appear on your desktop screen the citizens must enter all the details that are asked and attach all the necessary documents.
STEP 4: After entering all the details citizens must quickly review it and click on the option “submit” to complete their process.
Offline Application Process
STEP 1: All the citizens of Uttar Pradesh state who want to apply for the scheme offline are requested to visit the nearest divisional and sub-divisional offices or public service centers.
STEP 2: After reaching the centres the citizens must consult with the concerned officer and ask for the application form of the scheme.
STEP 3: The citizens must now start filling out the application form by entering all the details that are asked and attaching all the necessary documents.
STEP 4: Now the citizens can submit the application form back to the official to successfully register under the scheme.
