Eligibility Criteria Of Tamil Nadu Pink Auto Scheme
To be eligible for Tamil Nadu Pink Auto Scheme, applicant must to meet the following eligibility criteria these are as follows
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Tamilnadu State
- Applicant must be a woman of the state
- Age of the applying Women must be in between 20 to 45 years at the time of application
- Applicant mass to have a valid drivingย license.
Pink Rickshaw Rules
- A new clause has been added toย Rule 3ย that defines a โPink Autoโ, It states: โPink autoโ means an auto rickshaw owned and driven by women drivers under the Pink Auto Scheme of the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department.
- Uniform Requirements for Women Drivers: A new proviso has been inserted inย Rule 37ย to ensure uniformity for women driving pink autos:
- โProvided that the women driving pink auto shall be in pink colour uniform.โ
- Mandatory GPS and Police Helpline Integration: The amended rules include a new provision underย Rule 310-A, which mandates the installation of safety features in Pink Autos:
- โThe pink auto shall be fitted with Global Positioning System (GPS) / Vehicle Location Tracking Device and connected to the police helpline to ensure rapid response during emergencies.โ
- This aims to enhance safety and security for both drivers and passengers.
- Colour Regulation for Pink Autos: A new rule (Rule 364-B) has been added, specifying the requirement for the distinct appearance of Pink Autos:
- โEvery Pink auto covered by contract carriage permit shall be painted fully in โPink Colourโ.โ
- This ensures that all vehicles under the Pink Auto Scheme are easily recognizable and maintain consistency in their visual identity.
- Permit Transfer Restrictions: Underย Rule 208, a new proviso has been added regarding the transfer of permits:
- โProvided that the permit for pink auto shall not be transferred for, at least five years from the date of issue of permit.โ
- This provision ensures the stability and sustainability of the scheme by preventing immediate transfers.
