Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Savitaben Ambedkar Marriage Scheme, applicant must have to clear the following eligibility criteria’s these are as mentioned below:-
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Gujarat.
- Either one of the two should belong to the Scheduled Caste.
- The marriage should be valid as per the law and duly registered under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. An affidavit of their being legally married and in matrimonial alliance would be submitted by the couple.
- In cases, where marriage is registered other than Hindu Marriage Act 1955, the couple is required to furnish a separate certificate as per Annexure-1 of the Format.
- No incentive is available on second or subsequent marriage.
- Proposal would be treated as valid if submitted within one year of marriage.
- If the couple has already received any incentive from the State Govt. / UT Administration for this purpose, the amount approved / released to the couple will be adjusted from the total incentive that could be released to them under this Scheme.
- The proposal to give incentive under the Scheme should be recommended either by sitting Member of Parliament or Member of Legislative Assembly or the District Collector / Magistrate and submitted by the State / UT Government / District Magistrate / District Collector/ Deputy Commissioner

- Financial Assistance:- Under the scheme, government provide a total financial assistance of ₹2,50,000/- to the couple in which ₹1,00,000/- is provided for domestic expenses, for purchasing household appliances. And remaining of ₹1,50,000/- is provided in the form of National Savings Certificates in the joint name of the married couple.
