To provide financial stability to all the financially unstable female citizens of India the Government of India along with the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has launched the Bima Sakhi Yojana. With the help of this scheme, the female citizens will have to undergo training and will gain skills to become a LIC agents. After successfully becoming LIC agents the female citizens can educate other citizens who are living especially in rural areas about financial stability and the importance of life insurance. What is Bima Sakhi Yojana?
The Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi will visit Haryana Panipat to announce the launch of the Bima Sakhi Yojana. All the female citizens who will undergo the training to become LIC agents will also receive a stipend from the government to encourage them and make them financially independent while they are receiving their training. In the first year, the beneficiaries will receive a stipend of INR 7000, INR 6000 in the second, and INR 5000 in the third year. All the female citizens of India who are between the age group of 18 to 70 years and have cleared class 10th examination or eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme.

About Life Insurance Corporation (LIC)
The Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) is a government body that provides Life Insurance coverage to the citizens of India. The LIC is a statutory corporation that was establish on 1st September 1956.
