In an effort to provide everyone with affordable accommodation, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday officially opened seven residential complexes under the Atal Vihar Yojana. The Chhattisgarh Housing Board is leading the initiatives, which would give low-income groups (LIG) and economically disadvantaged sections (EWS) homes at reduced prices. Sai emphasized the government’s dedication to realizing its goal of housing for everyone when speaking during the event. About Atal Vihar Yojana
The government of Chattisgarh has recently announced to launch Atal Vihar Yojana. Under this program tge Government will built houses in seven different locations—Bhurakoni (Raipur), Patharra (Rajim), Khartuli (Dhamtari), Sihad (Dhamtari), Pulgaon (Durg), Gurur (Balod), and Kokadapara (Bijapur). Under this initiative around 1,650 homes will be built as part of the projects. Of these, 200 dwellings are allocated for the middle-income group (MIG), and 1,452 homes will serve the EWS and LIG categories. With a ₹300 crore investment, the project guarantees both urban and rural recipients high-quality building. The state government will contribute ₹80,000 for EWS homes and ₹40,000 for LIG homes under the plan.

Objective Of Atal Vihar Yojana?
The main objective of Atal Vihar Yojana is to build affordable houses in Chhattisgarh. The project has drawn its inspiration from the PM Awas Yojanq. Additionally, the chief minister declared that the project will receive ₹1 every square foot of government land. Additionally, the state government authorized 100% remission of diversion costs and fines for regularizing freehold properties during a Cabinet meeting on November 26, 2024. More than 80,000 Housing Board beneficiaries are expected to get benefitted from this decision. The scheme will mainly focus on providing houses to the economically weaker sections of the society.
